Job description

Assist Manager of Engineering with day-to-day activities and responsibilities necessary to operate the cooperative distribution facilities safely, efficiently, and reliably., * Assists in maintaining hardware for SCADA system, including programming and installation of the same.

  • Monitors construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable codes and requirements.
  • Assists in annual testing of substation equipment, including, but not limited to: relays, reclosers, electronic controls, and voltage regulators.
  • Assists with coordination studies to ensure the reliability of the electrical system.
  • Assists in maintaining Engineering Analysis model.
  • Assists with fiber optic network and substation communications/ equipment/ programming.
  • Participates in safety meetings and training programs as required.
  • Works with other departments to investigate and resolve member inquiries/problems.
  • Reviews paperwork for accuracy
  • Attend schools and seminars as needed.
  • Coordinate and cross-train with other Engineer Technician.
  • Motivated to advance in the field of Engineering.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Customer inquiry handling?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology in a program accredited by ABET; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET.

  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred., Skills and knowledge normally acquired in electrical utility operations or experience in related job is preferred. Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn is required. Solid computer skills are required, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is desirable., Work is both in a controlled office environment and outside in extreme temperatures (0 to 100 degrees F), in ice, snow, rain, sun, high humidity, etc. Must be able to walk a mile over uneven terrain, jump ditches, and any other requirement associated with power line construction and right-of-way clearing to observe work. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds., * Bachelor’s (Required)
