Job description

  • We guide defence users through complex technology challenges and help develop new solutions to meet defence needs.
  • We support the digitisation of defence with new thinking on technology capabilities and adoption processes.
  • We help clients shape and deliver cloud journeys from strategy through to live environments supporting critical services.
  • We build robust, scalable cloud platforms that enable modern micro-services based and digital solutions.
  • We improve environments through automation and infrastructure-as-code.
  • We deliver across a broad range of activities including technical and solution architecture design, operations, prototyping, development and testing.
  • We collaborate with cloud thought leaders across disciplines to innovate.
  • We contribute to RFP responses and other business development activities.
  • We build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • We help clients navigate the end-to-end journey for cloud infrastructure and engineering, including defining cloud strategy and operating models, developing business cases, selecting products and services, leading stand-up meetings, architecting and delivering the platform, and advising on cloud technologies and challenges.
  • We transcribe architectural information into technical documents for engineering and development teams.
  • We develop, publish and maintain technical documentation for networks.
  • We manage technical decision-making processes, including backlogs of decisions and neutral framing of contentious topics.
  • We organise key sessions and ensure accurate record keeping.

Requirements

  • We require current UK Security Clearance at DV level.
  • We are looking for experienced senior candidates with consulting skills and the ability to provide pragmatic solutions to complex business problems.
  • We need strong prioritisation, workload management, deadline delivery, and results-driven capability.
  • We expect the ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
  • We value experience managing teams and deliverables.
  • We look for experience in vendor/product assessment and selection.
  • We need experience assessing applications for technical suitability for migration to cloud.
  • We are seeking candidates with skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: cloud architecture and engineering; AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform or OCI; containers and orchestration such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher or Swarm; infrastructure as code such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM or GCP CDM; cloud automation and CI/CD tooling; DevOps philosophies and toolchains; Linux and Windows system implementation and management using automation frameworks such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet or PowerShell; application deployment and testing toolchains such as Jenkins, SVN or GitHub; security and performance considerations and testing; defining technical and non-functional requirements; cloud environment design and implementation; cloud consulting and strategy development.
