Job description

In order to support the Simulation UI (User Interface) Systems department, Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a, Our department develops top-notch, high-fidelity engineering and training simulations for a variety of aircrafts, supporting the entire development lifecycle.

We are seeking a working student (d/f/m) in the context of control stations for our simulators. In addition to the overall simulation control & monitoring, these stations are used for instructing and debriefing complex military flight training sessions.

Definition working student

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies. This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company’s premises. A working student’s main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Requirements

You are a full time student (d/f/m), looking for a working student position and want to get to know the insights of flight simulator development? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the Simulation UI Systems department as a working student (d/f/m) with approx. 18 hours a week!, * Enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in the area of computer science, or an equivalent field of study.

  • Practical experience in the field of C++ software development.
  • Knowledge of Qt/QML, Python and DevOps pipelines (CMake, Conan, Jenkins, …) would be an asset.
  • Fluent level of English., This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Support development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the software build, integration and test toolchain.
  • Contribute to the modernization of our dependency and package management infrastructure.
  • Assist in enabling cross-platform software builds.
  • Design, develop, test and maintain software by writing clean, efficient and maintainable code, and follow software development best practices. Analyze and debug software issues, and fix bugs.
