Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

3+ years of backend software engineering experience.

Strong programming skills in Python.

Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services.

Experience integrating enterprise applications using APIs and web services.

Experience with relational or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.).

Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.

Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).

Strong understanding of software architecture and system integration.

Experience building automation solutions.

Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to design, build, and optimize the backend systems powering OPSWAT Academy's digital learning ecosystem. This role is responsible for integrating and managing our Learning Management Systems (LMS), Content Management Systems (CMS), cybersecurity lab platforms, and enterprise business applications.

Beyond traditional backend development, we are looking for someone who embraces AI-first software engineering. You'll leverage modern Agentic AI tools and multi-agent coding workflows to accelerate development, automate repetitive engineering tasks, improve code quality, and enhance system operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to build intelligent automation and scalable integrations while working with modern cloud infrastructure, APIs, AI coding agents, and enterprise platforms.

What You Will Be Doing

Backend Development & System Integration

Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and modern backend technologies.
Build secure REST APIs and integration services connecting LMS, CMS, Salesforce, Power BI, cybersecurity labs, and internal platforms.
Develop automation services that reduce manual operations across engineering and business teams.
Optimize backend architecture for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Platform Integration

Lead cross-platform integrations between LMS, CMS, CRM, cloud services, and third-party applications.
Design API-first architectures and ensure reliable data synchronization across systems.
Build reusable integration services and event-driven workflows.
Monitor and troubleshoot integration performance and reliability.

AI-Driven Engineering

Leverage Agentic AI to improve software development productivity and engineering efficiency.
Utilize multi-agent coding workflows (planning, implementation, testing, documentation, code review) to accelerate software delivery.
Build AI-powered internal tools that automate engineering and operational workflows.
Evaluate and adopt emerging AI coding technologies to continuously improve developer experience.
Collaborate with AI-powered development assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.

Cybersecurity Lab Platform

Develop and maintain backend services supporting virtual cybersecurity labs.
Manage cloud infrastructure and backend components powering hands-on lab environments.
Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance for thousands of learners.
Support infrastructure automation and deployment pipelines.

Automation & Data

Develop workflow automation using APIs, serverless functions, and event-driven architectures.
Support reporting and analytics through Power BI integration.
Improve operational efficiency through intelligent automation.
