Job description

Position Description: Seneca Resources is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support a high-profile federal technology program in Washington, DC. This is a 100% onsite opportunity supporting mission-critical infrastructure and cloud environments for a federal customer. We are looking for engineers who thrive in highly secure environments and have hands-on experience building, automating, and maintaining modern infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, Linux administration, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation technologies. If you’re passionate about cloud infrastructure, containerization, automation, and DevSecOps best practices, we’d like to hear from you. This team has an expedited interview process, and strong candidates are being prioritized for immediate consideration., * Design, deploy, and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes.

  • Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and system administration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools.
  • Administer and support AWS cloud environments, ensuring performance, availability, and security.
  • Manage Linux and Windows Server environments through automation and scripting.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, and application issues across development and production environments.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, and security teams in an Agile environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret Clearance (required before start date).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Systems Administration, Platform Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience administering AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Experience with Linux administration.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation.
  • Experience supporting secure enterprise infrastructure in a collaborative technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools including:
  • Ansible
  • Chef
  • Puppet
  • AWS Systems Manager
  • Experience with scripting using Bash, Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as:
  • GitLab CI
  • GitHub Actions
  • Jenkins
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools including:
  • Terraform
  • AWS CloudFormation
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting highly secure federal or DoD environments.
