Recently raised $10M led by HOF Capital, with strong investor support for aggressive scaling., We’re looking for a Staff Backend Engineer who can own major parts of our backend architecture, move fast, and solve complex distributed systems problems at scale.

You’ll work directly with the CEO and a small, senior engineering team to build the infrastructure powering the next generation of SMS and AI-driven communication.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, build, and own backend systems that handle billions of messages monthly
• Design and optimize distributed systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS
• Ship quickly and iterate fast in a high-velocity startup environment
• Solve real scalability challenges across queuing, throughput, reliability, and latency
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the roadmap
• Contribute to AI-powered workflows and data intelligence features
• Maintain extremely high code quality while moving at startup speed

• 4+ years backend engineering experience
• Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of AWS services, especially SQS
• Proven experience building high-scale, high-throughput systems
• 01 startup experience - you’ve built from scratch, not just maintained
• Rapid career trajectory with clear growth and impact
• Eligible to work in the US or Canada (no visa sponsorship)

Nice-to-Haves

• Frontend experience with React.js
• Familiarity with AI/LLM workflows (e.g., ChatGPT, embeddings, agents)
• Experience at top engineering orgs or as a founder/early engineer
• Side projects, open-source contributions, or technical writing
