Database Administrator (DBA) - MongoDB & Oracle

Peraton is seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) - MongoDB & Oracle to provide database expertise and technical guidance to a development team supporting enterprise applications. This individual will lead database design, performance tuning, optimization, and data modeling efforts while providing hands-on expertise with MongoDB, Oracle, Databricks, and relational database technologies.

What You Will Do: Serve as the Database SME, providing technical expertise and guidance to development and technical teams.

• Lead database design, data modeling, performance tuning, optimization, implementation, and operational support.
• Design, implement, and support MongoDB and relational database environments, including Oracle.
• Design, implement, and support large-scale databases exceeding 5TB, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and identify opportunities for performance and operational improvements.
• Support Databricks and enterprise-level data solutions.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and technical teams to develop and maintain scalable, high-performing database solutions.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust level clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 8 years of experience or HS diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience.
• 8+ years of demonstrated database experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with MongoDB and/or relational database technologies, including Oracle.
• Strong experience with database design, performance tuning, optimization, data modeling, and operational support.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, and supporting large-scale databases greater than 5TB.
• Experience maintaining and optimizing enterprise database environments to ensure performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
• Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance on database architecture, design, implementation, and operational support.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Databricks.
• Databricks foundational/basic certification desired.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification desired.
• Experience supporting highly scalable, enterprise-level database environments.
