Job description

The team Within Business Banking, Payments & Cash Management (PCM) helps business customers manage their day-to-day financial flows effectively. Our products and services play a central role in our customers’ operations, from making and receiving payments to using liquidity efficiently and optimizing working capital. Within PCM, we develop and improve propositions, products and customer processes. Data helps us better understand customer needs and product usage, provide insight into performance, and support commercial and strategic choices with facts. You will work closely with colleagues from areas including sales, product management, Daily Banking and other multidisciplinary teams. Role and responsibilities As a Data Analyst, you will work on visible and strategically relevant topics. You will contribute to the Subscription Strategy and Liabilities analyses, among other initiatives. You will also work on lead generation for PCM Sales, build and maintain dashboarding, and support with analyses related to pricing. In this way, you translate data into concrete insights and actions that contribute to better propositions, customer service and sustainable commercial results. You will analyze customer behavior, product usage and financial performance and translate these into actionable insights, improvement proposals, reports and customer selections. As a Data Analyst:

  • You are driven by data and believe in making decisions based on facts and insights.
  • You create impactful customer interactions by designing targeted customer and lead selections that match customer needs.
  • You have a broad interest in data, from collecting and analyzing to experimenting and visualizing.
  • You develop reports that provide insight into your team’s key KPIs and support data-driven decision-making.
  • You proactively support stakeholders by identifying opportunities and proposing improvements based on data.
  • You translate complex business questions into clear analyses and actionable insights.
  • You have experience with data analysis in a large organization, preferably in the financial sector.
  • You actively contribute to strengthening ING’s fact-based culture by sharing knowledge and continuously improving.

Requirements

  • A Master’s degree in analytics, mathematics or econometrics
  • At least 4 years of experience in Analytics
  • Proven experience with SQL (SAS and/or Python are a plus)
  • Experience with visualisation and dashboarding tools, such as Cognos or Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting complex analyses
  • The ability to transform data into insights and present them in a clear and understandable way
  • A hands-on mentality. You learn quickly and apply new techniques
  • A customer-oriented mindset
  • The ability to work effectively with different types of stakeholders, such as fellow data specialists, product managers, sales colleagues or risk colleagues
  • You actively seek help and feedback and are comfortable giving feedback
  • Experience with agile ways of working is a plus
