Backend Developer / Software Engineer (Go / Node Pub / Sub) Remote / Hybrid to £120k + EquityAre you an experienced Backend Developer who enjoys building distributed systems, real-time infrastructure and solving complex scalability challenges?You could be progressing your career at a high growth technology company whose messaging platform powers millions of real-time interactions for developers and businesses worldwide.Your role:As a Backend Developer, you’ll join the team responsible for the core messaging platform that underpins the company’s real-time infrastructure. Working on highly scalable distributed systems, you’ll design and build new platform capabilities, improve performance and reliability and solve complex engineering problems at scale.You’ll contribute across low latency messaging, Pub / Sub services, state synchronisation and next generation AI communication infrastructure, delivering production grade software used by developers around the globe.Working in an AI

Requirements

first engineering environment, you’ll leverage modern AI tools to accelerate development while retaining full ownership of architecture, code quality and technical decision-making.Location / WFH:You can work from most of the time, collaborating via Slack and meeting up with the team at the dog friendly office in North London for tech talks, lunch and learn events etc. around once a month.About YouYou have strong backend development experience with Go, Node.js or another modern server-side languageYou have experience building or operating distributed systems, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures or streaming technologiesYou understand scalability, concurrency, performance optimisation and fault tolerant system designYou have experience with Pub / Sub messagingYou enjoy solving complex technical challenges and delivering high quality, production ready softwareYou’re comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced engineering environmentYou embrace modern AI development tools
