Job description

This role is focused on designing, developing and testing complex electronic hardware from initial concept through to manufacture. You will work hands-on with analogue and digital electronics, PCB design, hardware testing and verification, while working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams throughout the product lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in electronics design and PCB development, with knowledge of areas such as high-speed digital design, FPGA and VHDL, Embedded C, MATLAB or RF being highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities Design and develop analogue and high-speed digital electronics. Design and review multilayer PCBs, including signal integrity. Produce schematics and PCB layouts using Altium or OrCAD. Work with FPGAs, VHDL and Embedded C and hardware and software interfaces. Support RF electronics and associated interfaces. Carry out hardware testing, verification and troubleshooting. Take products through the full lifecycle from design and development to testing and manufacture. Key Requirements

Based at Waltham Cross, this permanent post suits an engineer who enjoys taking complex electronic products from concept through to production. The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will create analogue and high-speed digital circuits, produce schematics and multilayer PCB layouts using Altium or OrCAD, and carry out verification and testing. Close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing colleagues supports each stage of the lifecycle. Applicants should bring solid practical experience in electronics design, alongside familiarity with FPGA, VHDL, Embedded C, MATLAB or RF. The salary ranges from £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on background and expertise. This is a full-time, on-site position., Strong commercial experience in electronics and hardware design. Hands-on experience with PCB design and schematic capture. Experience with Altium or OrCAD. Good understanding of analogue and digital electronics. Experience with hardware testing and verification. Experience with FPGA and VHDL, Embedded C, MATLAB or RF would be highly advantageous. Electronics or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
