Cash Application Specialist

Diligent Delivery Systems is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our accounting department in the role of Cash Application Specialist. The primary responsibility of this position is to efficiently handle the processing and application of payments received from clients. Additionally, the specialist will assist in setting up new client accounts and ensuring accurate recording of accounts receivable data.

This role is in-office with no remote or hybrid work consideration.

Principlal Duties and Responsibilities (The below listed duties are not all inclusive. This position must also perform other duties as assigned):

• Apply cust(checks, ACH, wire, lockbox, credit card) to appropriate invices in Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, CXT, DMS.
• Match payment remittance to open receivables and resolve unidentified or partial payments.
• Communicate with internal departments to resolve short pays, overpayments, and misapplied cash.
• Monitor incomiing bank actiity and confirm all deposits are properly posted.
• Reconsile AR subledger to bank activity and general ledger during month-end.
• Research unapplied payments and work with the collections team to resolve issues.
• Maintain customer records and ensure application accuracy across all locations and entities.
• Assist with audit requests related to cash receipts and application history.
• Support continuous improvement of cash application workflows and controls.
• Collaborate with various departments, including sales and customer service, to resolve any payment related issues or inquiries.
• Proactively communicate with clients to address any issues relating to payments and maintain positive relationships.
• Prepare and maintain cash application reports, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of accounts receivable.

Do you have experience in Spreadsheets?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * HS Diploma or Equivaent; Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Proven experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately handle numerical data.
• Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in formula creation, data manipulation, and reporting.
• Familiarity with accounting software and related tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams and external clients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and practices.
