In this position… Seeking a data-driven, technically curious Quality Engineer to lead quality improvement efforts across vehicle systems, with a particular focus on 12V battery, starter, and alternator performance. In this role, you will own key quality metrics, unify quality issue tracking across multiple data sources, and partner with cross-functional teams to rapidly diagnose and resolve customer-impacting issues. What you’ll do…
- Own and improve core quality metrics - including R/1000, CPU, CPR, and end-to-end (E2E) performance - through continuous monitoring, analysis, and improvement initiatives.
- Lead a unified quality agenda, consolidating issues identified across diverse sources such as customer claims, DTC data, service turnaround speed, dealer special service handling, connected vehicle data, and warranty spend.
- Represent the quality function at various internal and cross-team quality forums, presenting findings, status, and recommendations.
- Conduct root-cause and Pareto analysis to identify the top contributors to 12V battery, starter, and alternator failures across both early-life (low-time) and in-service (high-time) populations.
- Drive timely resolution of priority items on the quality agenda, ensuring nothing critical falls through the cracks.
- Assemble cross-functional support, proactively engaging peers and subject-matter experts to accelerate resolution of customer-facing issues.
- Leverage coding and connected vehicle data to investigate, diagnose, and solve quality issues at their root cause.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort and streamline quality escalation management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar
- 2+ years of working experience with any computer language. Preferably C, C++, Python, or equivalent
- 2+ years of working experience with Software Analysis/Testing, CAN bus technology and tools (Log Review/Root Cause Analysis)
- 2+ years of experience working with Engineering tools, Databases, Defect Tracking Systems (Diagnostic Engineering Tool, IVS, VADR, JIRA)
- 2+ years of working experience in Service Tools/Applications (such as FDRS, PTS, workshop manuals)
- 2+ years of experience with Quality methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, triage capabilities 8D, Fishbone, Is/Is Not, 3 legged 5 why, etc.)
- 2+ years of experience working in a team collaboration environment with upper management and peers

- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar
- Knowledge in problem solving methods, Six-Sigma and/or Quality/Reliability tools - DoE, Taguchi Methods, FMA, etc.
- A Green Belt and/or Black Belt
- Solid grasp of vehicle electrical architectures and components.

This position is a salary grade 7 and ranges from $86,600-$144,900., This position is a salary grade 8 and ranges from $99,100-$166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate’s skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
