Job description

  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a high-impact, mission-driven leader to serve as Director of Innovation and Experimentation.
  • This director-level role will drive strategic capture, partner engagement, and portfolio growth across Valkyrie’s innovation, advanced capabilities, and experimentation mission areas within the Frontier Innovation Response (FNR) ecosystem.
  • This is a REMOTE opportunity., * The Director of Rapid Innovation Engineering leads the development, operation, and evolution of FNR’s analytical core value engine, transition readiness scoring methodology, and the data architecture foundational to the organization’s product portfolio.
  • This role owns financial forecasting models, pricing strategies, valuation tools, modeling and simulation frameworks, and the contractual structures through which FNR products are delivered to government customers.
  • Responsibilities include leading value engineering, ROI and transition probability analysis, technical due diligence on candidate technologies, and establishing the engineering defensibility necessary for proposal, acquisition, and audit contexts.
  • The role works in tight partnership with the Director of Rapid Innovation Strategy to ensure synchronized strategy-engineering integration across all FNR-engineered solutions and leads the build-out of FNR’s engineering and analytics function as the organization scales

Requirements

  • Must have A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations research, industrial/organizational fields, or a related discipline and at least 12 years of progressively responsible experience in defense innovation, experimentation, advanced capabilities development, intelligence operations, business development, or related mission domains.
  • Must demonstrate proven expertise in leading capture for innovation and experimentation programs; cultivating senior-government and mission partner relationships; and securing significant revenue growth through DoD and IC engagements.
  • Must have Experience directing or supporting innovation and experimentation organizations, managing high-security environments, and aligning technical and operational divisions toward new mission growth is essential., * Preferred qualifications include a Master of Science in Operations Research, an advanced degree in engineering or related technical fields, or progression toward a doctoral degree in organizational or quantitative disciplines.
  • Senior leadership experience driving advanced capability development portfolios, managing large technical divisions, or transforming innovation organizations inside the DoD or Intelligence Community, preferred.
  • Experience in test & evaluation, special technical operations, program security, operational planning, and leading cross-mission teams supporting engineering and T&E activities, preferred.

Security Requirements:

  • Must hold an active TS/SCI security clearance and be capable of obtaining and maintaining all required clearances in accordance with federal security policies.

Travel Requirements:

  • High travel; approximately 50% or more. Candidates must maintain valid and compliant identification credentials to support access to federal, military, and compartmented facilities as required.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $180,000 - $210,000 per year
