Data Engineer

In this high visibility role, you will be a Data Analyst (f/m/d) for the Grid Technologies Services (GT SV). Portfolio & Market Application (PMA) Team within our Siemens Energy organization. You will be responsible to create value out of available data sources (internal and external) by deploying data analytics methods, models, algorithms and visualizations and extracting relevant insights.

Builds prediction systems for data-driven insights and ensures efficient management reporting and transparency on GT SV regional data as decision support to PMA Hub Managers and Regional Heads in order to allow to build the right Go to Market globally and regionally based on facts and data. Besides the candidate will also harmonize all process in the Portfolio & Market Application, in addition to take responsibility to drive special projects related to sustainable growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to drive complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives that impact the planning, organization, and implementation of our product portfolio plus new market.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Harmonize internal process and tools in PMA
• Lead strategic projects related to sustainable global growth - i.e. New Business Cases
• Follow up on the Business Performance, extracting insights how to improve the business growth
• Build up Business Intelligence based on data analytics using Alteryx and Tableau
• Bring more transparency related to portfolio and market segmentation opportunities to support the Go2Market definition
• Structure the BI Smart Room to visualize all information in an easy way to take right decision into sustainable growth
• Follow up on customer satisfaction
• Identify new portfolio, new markets and customer needs and Support PMA, Sales and Regions on Go2Market definition

• University studies in engineering, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science or Economics/ Business Administration with a focus on Digitalization, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus) as well as at least 5 years relevant professional experience in data analytics or business intelligence and/ or strategy and Portfolio Management with Projects with a strong emphasis on business development
• Strong analytical skills, incl. extracting, cleaning and preparing data from various sources, producing insights, coming up with innovative solutions to optimize business performance and leading to founded & critical decision making
• Extensive experience in handling large amounts of data for a complex international organization
• Mastery of business intelligence tools (ETL tools such as Alteryx and visualizations via Tableau or similar tools)
• Experience with relational databases or Snowflake with queries using SQL and good knowledge of Microsoft 365, Salesforce and SAP
• Proven experience working and implementing sophisticated projects/ strategies while interfacing with different stakeholders including business leaders, business/ support teams as well as individual contributors
• Eagerness to consistently meet and exceed commitments/ objectives while taking ownership of complex challenge and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization while ensuring excellent senior stakeholder management up to board level
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English
