Senior Systems Engineer

• Conduct system performance analysis and developing technical performance risk mitigation strategies

• Detail electrical design of cross-platform systems, subsystems and components with multiple communications protocols in a networked environment

• Program in both Windows and Linux environments for embedded systems utilizing microcontrollers or PLCs

• Generate system design and configuration management documentation

• Work directly with the customer during training, travel, and addressing impromptu customer requirement changes, or resolving urgent issues

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience to include electro-mechanical systems design, assembly, integration, and testing, as well as conducting system performance analyses and developing technical risk-mitigation strategies.

• Knowledge of electrical design of cross-platform systems, subsystems, and components with multiple communications protocols in a networked environment

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active and transferable Top-Secret SCI (TS/SCI) U.S. government issued security clearance with the ability to obtain a polygraph after start

• Programing in both Windows and Linux environments for embedded systems utilizing microcontrollers or PLCs

• Design of electro-mechanical automated system for harsh environments

• CAD experience with software such as PTC Creo (Pro-E) or SolidWorks

• Networking system design in classified environments

• Perform trade studies to optimize system performance

• Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair electronic systems, utilizing electronic test and measurement equipment

The salary range for this role is 95,500 USD - 181,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
