Senior Systems Engineer

• Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for projects and programs at any acquisition life cycle stage.
• Support program acquisition for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration.
• Advise and assist on cost, schedule, and performance issues.
• Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation for government program managers.
• Support presentation of products to internal and external customers.
• Include documentation such as Initial Capability Documents, Interface Control Documents, Capability Development/Production/Requirements Documents, Milestone documentation, Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Defense Acquisition Board documentation, Technical Evaluations, System Specifications, enabling concepts, training material, briefings, white papers, reports, and analysis results.
• Develop documentation using latest applicable government guidance (e.g., MIL-STD).
• Provide draft SME-level technical and/or programmatic status reports for individual programs or portfolio upon government request.
• Identify improvement areas in acquisition processes.
• Provide recommendations and execute tasks to reduce risks.
• Assist in building and maintaining a government risk program including risk identification, process definition, and technical risk mitigation plans.
• Maintain awareness of current program schedule.
• Monitor acquisition implementation and report requirement shortfalls.
• Provide program assessment based on identified risks.
• Combine and correlate program execution data with program baselines to maintain and update acquisition reports.
• Advise on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, video teleconferences, telecons, working groups, and informational meetings.
• Maintain broad awareness of all programs and technology development efforts in the portfolio.
• Assist integrated product teams and establish customer and contractor interfaces.
• Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection and operations.
• Recommend solutions for technical anomalies.
• Develop, deliver, review, and evaluate impact analysis, audits, studies, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews., This position does not supervise the work of others.

• MA/MS degree required.
• Ten years’ experience in this type of position or program is required.
• Must be highly knowledgeable in classified space control systems engineering processes and procedures, including but not limited to requirements development, configuration control, and government Deficiency Review (DR) board establishment, execution, and DR disposition and management.
• Must demonstrate ability to organize and conduct ACAT-like technical design reviews and audits.
• Must demonstrate ability to develop, update, and coordinate ACAT-like program documentation.
• BA/BS degree is acceptable if the candidate possesses at least 12 years of experience in this type of position or program. The Materiel Leader may also waive the MA/MS requirement., Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.

The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

SALARY RANGE: $148,000 - $250,000 Annual Salary
