Software Engineer, Hive role at Cloudera Business Area Engineering Mid-Senior level Remote Role We do our work as a remote team, delivering cloud?native solutions across public and private clouds.Create products addressing complex SQL query workloads on public or private clouds within the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP).Focus on query optimization, performance, and scalability of SQL queries.Improve code quality through tests, automation, and code reviews.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 6+ years of experience.Strong coding discipline, attention to detail, and quality focus.Proficiency in data structures and algorithms; programming in Java is desired.Solid understanding of database internals, query processing and SQL query optimization.Ability to collaborate on cross?functional projects.Contributions to open?source Apache projects (Hive, Impala, Calcite) or other RDBMS.Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem and file formats such as Parquet and ORC.Familiarity with public cloud infrastructures (Azure, AWS, GCP).This is your opportunity to build cloud?native solutions deployable across massive clusters on any cloud provider or private data centers.You’ll work with cutting?edge technologies like Trino, Spark, Airflow, and AI inferencing systems to shape the future of analytics.Your code directly influences how data engineers, analysts, and developers worldwide extract value from data.Phone and Internet Reimbursement program
