Job description

Are you passionate about transforming complex data into meaningful business insights? Do you enjoy building scalable data models, developing efficient data transformation pipelines, and delivering enterprise-grade Business Intelligence solutions?, We are looking for a BI Engineer who combines strong analytical thinking with hands-on expertise in Power BI, PySpark, SQL, and Data Modelling. You will work closely with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Architects, and Business Stakeholders to build robust reporting solutions and enable data-driven decision making across the organization., * Design and develop scalable Power BI dashboards and enterprise reporting solutions.

  • Build and maintain reusable semantic data models to support business reporting and self-service analytics.

  • Develop complex PySpark transformation logic for cleansing, enriching, aggregating, and preparing large datasets for analytical consumption.

  • Design and implement dimensional data models including Fact & Dimension tables, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema.

  • Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to integrate data from multiple enterprise sources into reporting layers.

  • Develop optimized SQL queries, views, and stored procedures to support reporting and analytics.

  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root cause analysis to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.

  • Optimize dashboard performance through efficient DAX measures, query optimization, and model tuning.

  • Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions and analytical models.

  • Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting standards.

  • Promote BI best practices around governance, reusable datasets, naming conventions, and documentation.

  • Support production issues, data investigations, and continuous improvements across the BI platform.

  • Advanced Power BI development experience, including Power BI Service and Self-Service BI solutions
  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), Semantic Models, and Shared Datasets
  • Experience with Row-Level Security (RLS), report performance optimization, and enterprise-scale reporting solutions
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices for Power BI deployments

Data Engineering & PySpark

  • Strong hands-on experience developing complex PySpark transformations
  • Expertise in data cleansing, data enrichment, aggregations, joins, unions, pivot/unpivot operations, and window functions
  • Experience with incremental data processing and performance optimization
  • Strong knowledge of Spark SQL and large-scale data processing frameworks

Data Modeling & Data Warehousing

  • Solid understanding of data modeling principles, including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema design
  • Experience with fact and dimension modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse concepts
  • Knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD) and relationship modeling
  • Experience designing scalable analytical data models

SQL & Database Development

  • Advanced SQL development skills
  • Expertise in query optimization, Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, views, and stored procedures
  • Ability to develop and optimize complex analytical queries for large datasets

Experience Required

  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Data Engineering.

  • Proven experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions.

  • Strong experience writing PySpark transformation logic for large datasets.

  • Experience designing dimensional data models for enterprise reporting.

  • Strong SQL development skills.

  • Experience working with Agile delivery teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in Banking, Insurance, Retail, or Financial Services.

  • Exposure to enterprise data platforms and Lakehouse architecture.

  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.

  • Experience mentoring junior BI developers.
