Technical Officer - Network Co-ordination

We’re looking for someone with a good understanding of highway management issues and an interest in helping to keep Nottingham’s highway network moving safely and efficiently. You’ll support the operation of the Council’s Permit Scheme, the coordination of works on the highway and the processing of Temporary Traffic Regulation Order applications. You’ll be confident communicating with a wide range of people, including colleagues, works promoters, utility companies, emergency services, public transport operators, businesses and members of the public. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, alongside the ability to provide a high standard of customer service and deal effectively with enquiries and complaints. You’ll be organised, able to prioritise your own workload and comfortable using IT systems to record, manage and interpret information. You’ll also be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, with a proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop your knowledge of highway and network management. • A proactive, can-do approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and a willingness to learn and develop.
