We are looking for a smart and curious individual with a passion for problem solving and software development to join our Reverse Engineering Team in Nuneaton (UK) as our new Software Engineer.

Your day-to-day role will include:

Cryptanalysis of algorithms
Analysis of various microcontroller architectures
Using IDA Pro
Logging vehicle communications (CAN Bus, K-Line)
Developing C/C++ applications for our tools
Using Python to develop in-house routines for vehicle communication
Testing procedures on various vehicles
Participating in Scrum meetings and reporting to the Scrum Master
Using Jira to track tasks and activities

Requirements

Degree in Automotive Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Proficiency in C and embedded systems development
Understanding of software development methodologies
Recent graduates are welcome to apply
Strong ability to learn and absorb complex information effectively
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills

Desirable skills:

Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, networks, and architectures (CAN Bus, K-Line, J1850)
Experience with garage diagnostics is an advantage (ISO 15765-2/UDS, Keyword 2000, DoIP)
Experience using automotive logging tools (e.g., Vector CANcase, Intrepid neoVI)
Knowledge of transponder technology
Knowledge of, or interest in, software and hardware security measures and vulnerabilities
Experience with at least one of the following cryptographic algorithms: AES, DES, 3DES, RSA
Knowledge of automotive bootloaders
Cryptanalysis experience
Good mathematical understanding of cryptographic algorithms
Experience disassembling binary files using IDA Pro
Cross-compilation experience
Familiarity with assembler instruction sets for one or more of the following architectures: MC9S12(X), NEC V850E1, Renesas RH850, Intel x86, Intel x64, MPC56/57/58
Knowledge of hardware side-channel attacks, including Voltage Glitching, Clock Glitching, and EMFI
