Job description

GovCIO LLC seeks a Database Administrator to support mission-critical federal IT systems. In this 1st-shift role, you will manage, secure, and optimize enterprise databases that power high-impact government programs. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and high availability for Oracle and related platforms. You’ll enforce security and compliance standards, collaborate with developers and engineers in an Agile environment, and support modernization and cloud initiatives while ensuring reliability, data integrity, and operational excellence for federal customers., * Administer, configure, and maintain enterprise Oracle and related databases for federal mission systems.

  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Design and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to meet RPO/RTO targets.
  • Implement and enforce database security, access controls, and compliance with federal standards.
  • Support schema design, release management, and changes across development, test, and production.
  • Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and tools to improve reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and cybersecurity teams in an Agile environment.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for database operations.
  • Support on-call rotation and 1st-shift operations, escalating and resolving production incidents.
  • Contribute to modernization initiatives, including cloud migrations and database upgrades.
