Core Technical Skills Strong proficiency in PHP (modern versions, OOP, best practices) * Extensive experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Symfony, or similar * Solid front-end development skills using JavaScript / TypeScript * Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, or Angular) * Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design * Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs Essential Tools & Ecosystem Experience with version control using Git (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews) * Strong working knowledge of Composer * Experience with npm / Node.js * Familiarity with build tools (e.g. Vite, Webpack) * Experience working with Linux-based development environments Backend & Database Strong experience with MySQL * Understanding of database design, indexing, and performance optimisation * Experience with ORMs (e.g. Eloquent, Doctrine) * Knowledge of caching systems (Redis, Memcached) Architecture & Best Practices * Proven experience designing scalable and maintainable applications * Strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns * Experience writing clean, testable, and well-documented code * Understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization DevOps & Deployment * Experience with CI/CD pipelines * Familiarity with Docker and containerised environments * Understanding of server management and web servers (Nginx, Apache) Experience * 5+ years of professional development experience, primarily with PHP * Proven track record of delivering production-grade web applications * Previous experience in a senior role Soft Skills * Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Ability to mentor and support junior developers * Excellent communication skills * Proactive mindset with strong ownership of work Nice-to-Have * Familiarity with GraphQL * Experience with microservices architecture * Exposure to automated testing pipelines and QA processes * Experience working with magento 2 and building modules * Understanding / experience of working with AI agents.
