Job description
As an Integration Engineer, you will work across a broad technical stack including Linux, databases, scripting, interfaces, middleware, cloud and automation. Rather than focusing on a single technology, you will learn how complex enterprise systems are designed, integrated, deployed, tested and operated in real-world environments.
This role is a great opportunity for a technically minded engineer who wants to combine hands-on technology with real client exposure and ownership of complex implementation projects, and who enjoys understanding how systems work end-to-end, solving difficult technical problems and working with people as much as with technology.
You will work closely with some of the largest financial institutions in Europe, collaborating directly with client technology teams, project managers, financial engineers and SS&C product specialists. From an early stage, you will be encouraged to take ownership of technical problems, contribute to solution design and become a trusted technical advisor to clients.
What You Will Get To Do:
- Define and specify the technical architecture and design of the SS&C Algorithmics solution to be implemented.
- Define and scope the technical configuration, interfacing and enhancement work in conjunction with project managers, senior engineers and financial engineers.
- Provide technical consultancy to clients based on solid understanding of the Algo product suite and implementation requirements.
- Set up and configure Algorithmics and third-party products (database, middleware, reporting solutions) at client sites.
- Design and implement interfaces between clients’ source systems and SS&C Algorithmics products. This will largely involve the Algorithmics’ data mapping tool and definition of data required from the clients’ systems.
- Design, develop and implement customised modules using a range of development tools (typically shell, Perl or Python).
- Conduct troubleshooting, testing (functional and volume) for original installation and system upgrades, and support clients’ integration testing and acceptance testing activities.
- Where appropriate, deliver training through formal courses and workshop sessions for clients and internal teams.
- Produce technical documentation for clients describing the system and its customisations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical degree (e.g., Computer science, telecom engineering, or a related technical field.
- English & Spanish: Fluent
- High degree of initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, and self-sufficiency in implementing and configuring complex software products and using technology to solve business problems.
- Hands-on command of Unix / Linux, including shell scripting and file system navigation.
- Basic programming experience in at least one language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, C++, Kotlin, Rust
- AI & Productivity Tools: Experience using AI agents & tools.
- Capacity to estimate work, manage own deliverables and keep within project plans.
- Ability to work with competing demands in small multi-disciplinary teams.
- Sound documentation and communication skills in a client-facing environment.
Desired:
- Experience with middleware and business intelligence (reporting) software.
- Understanding of database essentials (including SQL, installation, sizing, performance). Specific DBA skills are not essential, but familiarity with at least one RDBMS is required.
- Client-facing culture
- Familiarity with DevOps & Cloud
- Understanding of the financial marketplace (market data, fixed income products, derivatives) in terms of the underlying data.
Familiarity with risk management (market risk/credit risk in a commercial or treasury environment), financial analytics and market data
