Senior Engineer, Unified Compute

Experteer Overview As a Senior Software Engineer on the Unified Compute team, you will own the backend layer that makes compute provisioning, usage tracking, and billing reliable and scalable across multi-cloud and on-prem environments.You’ll shape architecture, data models, and APIs to support configurable, pay-as-you-go compute for scientists.You’ll collaborate with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to deliver a seamless, customer-centric platform experience.This role offers ownership end-to-end and a clear impact on how researchers run workloads and understand costs.Compensaciones / Beneficios * Own integration between Seqera Intelligent Compute and the Seqera Platform * Manage compute environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, HPC schedulers and GPU workloads * Integrate with cloud provider APIs, handling partial failures and quota issues * Own billing and pay-as-you-go path, ensuring accurate metering and invoicing * Design data models and APIs that stay consistent across services and releases * Improve error visibility and add tests/observability for faster incident diagnosis * Collaborate with Platform, product, and support teams; document systems for sustainability * Take design decisions within scope and ensure knowledge is documented Responsabilidades * 4+ years building and operating production backend services with ownership of at least one * Strong in Java and/or Groovy, with Micronaut, Spring Boot or similar * Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider API for provisioning resources * Experience with Kubernetes workloads * Commitment to data correctness and potentially billing/meters systems * Experience designing REST APIs and data models, handling versioned integrations * Accountability for a customer-facing production system * Ability to operate with ambiguity and drive work independently * Willingness to use AI as part of engineering practices Requisitos principales * 23 days vacation per year * equity * private health insurance * private life insurance * home office allowance * learning and development budget (1,000 USD)
