Quality Control Analyst / Engineer (VDI & End-User Computing)

A leading professional services organization in downtown Chicago is seeking a Quality Control Analyst/Engineer for a 6-month contract engagement. This role will focus on validating and supporting modern end-user computing environments, with a strong emphasis on virtual desktop infrastructure, desktop engineering, workstation modernization initiatives, and quality control processes.

In this position, you will work closely with infrastructure, engineering, security, and support teams to test, validate, and document enterprise desktop solutions. The ideal candidate brings a blend of VDI administration, endpoint management, and quality assurance experience, along with exceptional documentation and communication skills. You will play a key role in ensuring desktop platforms, applications, and deployment processes are thoroughly tested and ready for production use while helping standardize testing procedures for future initiatives. Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of experience supporting virtual desktop or desktop engineering environments
• Experience with Omnissa Horizon (VMware Horizon), Azure Virtual Desktop, or Windows 365
• Strong understanding of Windows 11 image management and application deployment
• Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/ConfigMgr)
• Ability to execute test plans, validate software deployments, and document results
• Experience running and troubleshooting PowerShell scripts
• Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy administration
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage testing activities and documentation with minimal supervision

Desired Skills & Experience

• Microsoft Intune and Autopilot experience
• Familiarity with Entra ID and hybrid identity environments
• Experience with FSLogix profile management and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of Azure networking, storage, and virtual desktop architecture
• Citrix administration experience
• Experience with Nerdio Manager for Azure Virtual Desktop
• Exposure to end-user computing migrations or VDI platform transitions
• Experience testing business-critical applications in professional services environments
• Strong organizational, project tracking, and process improvement skills
