Job description
Beacon Technologies is seeking a Data Engineer for our client partner. This role is based in Madison, Wisconsin, onsite 4 day per week and remote 1 day per week. The highly skilled Data Engineer will join our client’s growing data and analytics team. This individual will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing modern data solutions that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with AWS, Databricks, and Python, along with experience developing and managing semantic data models that enable scalable self-service analytics and reporting., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Build and optimize data workflows using AWS and Databricks technologies.
- Develop robust ETL/ELT processes to support data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable Python code for data engineering and automation initiatives.
- Design, implement, and maintain semantic layers that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and technical teams to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve data quality, reliability, and performance.
- Support data governance, security, and best practices across the data ecosystem.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in data architecture and processes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Extensive experience working with Databricks in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Python development.
- Experience designing and supporting semantic layers for business intelligence and analytics solutions.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, database concepts, and data warehousing principles.
- Experience building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modern BI and reporting platforms.
- Experience with data lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and data engineering best practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid work schedule with 4 days onsite in Madison, WI and 1 remote day per week.
- Collaborative team environment focused on innovation, scalability, and data-driven decision-making.
