Job description

In this role you will build, operate and standardize a Kubernetes platform across on-premises and cloud environments to empower development teams. You’ll work with the Infra Engineering team to deliver a scalable, secure platform and drive automation and upskilling of stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with Core Cloud and IT Ops to ensure alignment and visibility across countries. This is a critical, strategic role focused on platform governance, reliability and ongoing improvement. Compensaciones / Beneficios

Responsabilidades

  • Guide Kubernetes platform implementations (on-prem RKE2/VMware and cloud EKS/AKS) and best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and plan platform initiatives
  • Design and administer multi-environment Kubernetes clusters (RKE2, EKS, AKS) and plan migrations
  • Define platform roadmaps, timelines and resource needs, manage scope and risks
  • Establish governance and security policies (RBAC, network policies, image scanning, hardening)
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication and regular status updates
  • Monitor and optimize resource usage for project efficiency
  • Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future initiatives
  • Define target architecture with Platform Tech Leads and support interconnectivity
  • Promote IaC/GitOps for automation and scalability
  • Contribute to cloud-native deployment patterns and workload migration strategies
  • Enhance observability with OpenTelemetry and related tooling
  • Review and improve platform governance with global architecture team
  • Support enterprise-wide transformation with VMware and cloud specialists
  • Champion DevOps culture and mentor platform operations team members

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Kubernetes production experience (on-prem and cloud)
  • Hands-on administration of RKE2 on VMware vSphere (node lifecycle, etcd, CNI, storage classes)
  • Experience with AWS EKS and Azure AKS (cluster provisioning, IAM/RBAC, upgrades)
  • Knowledge of VMware vSphere/vCenter as underlying infra
  • IaC and GitOps tooling experience (Terraform, Ansible, Helm, ArgoCD or Flux)
  • Secrets management and vaulting (e.g., CyberArk Conjur)
  • On-call availability for platform support
  • Container networking and security knowledge (CNI, Ingress, service mesh, network policies) and observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
  • Scripting (Bash, Python, Go)
  • Familiar with AI tooling concepts for self-service automation
  • Certifications: CKA, VMware VCP-DCV, AWS or Azure Admin/Solutions Expert
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile/Kanban
  • Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architectures (plus)
