OverviewAs an Experienced Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and data scientists to deliver AI-powered language learning software.You will own end-to-end delivery, set technical direction, and foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.You will partner with product, design, data, and operations to define goals and ensure timely value delivery while upholding quality and security.This role offers the chance to shape AI-enabled education products at Pearsons English Language Learning division at scale.ResponsabilidadesCo-own digital products with the business product owner and drive the technical strategy impacting user experienceLead and mentor a team of software engineers and data scientistsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define goals, needs, and timelinesOversee the software development lifecycle and ensure adherence to DevOps/DevSecOps, Clean Code, DDD practicesManage team productivity, remove blockers, and ensure capacityServe as the main point of contact for owned products and translate business needs into technical solutionsOwn data governance and usage across platforms to enable outcomes-driven decisionsTrack roadmap progress, budget, and capacity allocation for value deliveryUnderstand and address security and compliance requirements with Product and Development teamsProvide technical leadership on AI capabilities to drive scalability and maintainabilityStay updated on industry trends and propose process improvementsFoster continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and an inclusive cultureUphold a diverse and inclusive work environmentRequisitos principalesBachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldProven software engineering and QA experience with modern development practicesHands-on experience with Java, PHP, Kotlin, Python, or C++, and with React and Node.jsStrong leadership and ability to motivate a teamExperience with Agile practices and product/project managementExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsExperience with DevOps/DevSecOps tools and practices (CI/CD, version control, issue tracking, feature flags, etc.)Ability to prioritize, manage multiple teams, and make strategic decisionsStrong problem-solving and analytical capabilitiesCommitment to staying current with emerging tech and trendsDedicated to an inclusive and diverse work environmentleadershipcommunicationcollaborationJavaPHPKotlin
