Product Owner, 3 Senior

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior AI Product Owner to lead the planning and delivery of enterprise generative AI solutions for teams across the organization. This Long-term Contract position is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and offers the opportunity to work closely with technical and business leaders to turn strategic goals into practical, scalable AI products. The role requires strong product ownership skills, comfort with complex technical discussions, and the ability to guide delivery while balancing governance, risk, and business value.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the full lifecycle of AI initiatives, from early discovery and use case evaluation through deployment and post-release support.

• Convert business priorities into well-defined epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria that enable efficient execution by delivery teams.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and external partners to shape solution approaches and strengthen technical design decisions.

• Maintain and prioritize the product backlog by weighing business impact, implementation effort, dependencies, and potential risk.

• Facilitate agile delivery activities such as sprint planning, reviews, demonstrations, defect management, and readiness for production release.

• Contribute to architecture and design conversations by assessing when generative AI is the right fit compared with other automation or machine learning approaches.

• Work closely with legal, compliance, security, risk, architecture, and data governance partners to support reviews, approvals, and audit-related needs.

• Lead discussions with executives, subject matter experts, and cross-functional stakeholders to build alignment, communicate tradeoffs, and drive informed decisions.

• Establish success measures and key performance indicators for AI products, track realized value, and identify opportunities to reuse capabilities across multiple use cases. Requirements * Proven experience serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager in highly technical environments, with ownership of complex digital or AI-driven products.

• Strong understanding of generative AI concepts, including large language models, prompt design, model behavior, context handling, and related implementation considerations.

• Ability to engage deeply with architecture, engineering, and security teams to evaluate design quality, scalability, maintainability, and operational risk.

• Experience working within enterprise governance frameworks involving legal, compliance, risk assessment, security, and responsible AI practices.

• Solid background in Agile and Scrum delivery methods, including backlog management, sprint ceremonies, and use of tools such as JIRA.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with cloud and enterprise technology environments such as Microsoft Azure and AWS.

• Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and support business hours aligned to Eastern or Central time zones. Technology Doesn’t Change the World, People Do.®
