Job description
An established digital transformation and cybersecurity consultancy is continuing to grow its Identity & Access Management (IAM) capability and is looking to appoint an experienced IAM Delivery Consultant.
This is a delivery-focused consulting position working with organisations where identity, access and security are business-critical. The successful individual will work with clients to understand their existing identity environments, identify areas for improvement and help design and deliver practical IAM solutions.
The role sits across consultancy, advisory and technical delivery, rather than being purely an operational IAM position. You will have the opportunity to work through different stages of IAM programmes, from discovery and requirements gathering through to solution design, implementation and transformation.
The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the UK, with an expectation of attending client site approximately 1-2 days per month, although this may vary depending on project requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
The role will involve working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand identity challenges and translate business requirements into effective IAM solutions.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Gathering, analysing and defining IAM business and technical requirements.
- Understanding clients’ existing identity landscapes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Advising clients on IAM strategy, operating models and transformation programmes.
- Designing IAM solutions, architectures and governance frameworks.
- Supporting and, where appropriate, leading IAM technology implementations.
- Developing and improving IAM Target Operating Models (TOMs).
- Improving identity lifecycle management, including joiner, mover and leaver processes.
- Supporting access governance, access requests, approvals and access reviews.
- Working across areas such as Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Access Management, Privileged Access Management (PAM), Enterprise Identity and CIAM.
- Working with senior stakeholders across security, technology and business functions.
- Helping clients understand and adopt appropriate IAM processes, technologies and best practices.
- Contributing to programmes from initial discovery and strategy through to implementation and deployment., In particular, you’ll ideally have experience in areas such as:
- IAM consultancy, advisory or transformation projects.
- Identity Governance & Administration.
- IAM Target Operating Models and associated processes.
- IAM solution and architecture design.
- Identity and access lifecycle management.
- Role design, role management and access governance.
- Access reviews and/or role mining.
- Troubleshooting identity and access issues.
- Working with directories and enterprise identity environments.
- Integrating IAM platforms with other applications and systems.
- Understanding APIs, integrations and IAM automation.
- Translating business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Requirements gathering and process documentation.
- Managing stakeholders and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
The key requirement is someone who has moved beyond simply operating an IAM platform and can demonstrate the ability to understand the wider business and security problem, engage with stakeholders and help develop and deliver the appropriate solution.
We’re looking for someone with at least five years’ experience in Identity & Access Management, ideally with a background spanning consultancy, advisory, engineering or IAM transformation.
You’ll need to be comfortable discussing both the technical detail and the wider business rationale behind IAM decisions., Experience with one or more modern IAM technologies would be valuable. The environment may include technologies such as:
- SailPoint / SailPoint IIQ
- Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
- Ping Identity
- Okta
- Saviynt
- CyberArk
- BeyondTrust
Experience with other modern IAM, IGA, PAM or CIAM technologies will also be considered.
Of particular interest will be candidates who can demonstrate genuine hands-on experience with technologies such as SailPoint IIQ and Entra ID, alongside an understanding of how those technologies fit into a wider IAM/IGA environment.
For example, strong candidates may be able to talk through role creation and management, access requests, access troubleshooting, AD/group management, user lifecycle processes, role reviews or role mining, as well as the configuration, customisation or integration of IAM platforms.
