Job description
Provide technical guidance, knowledge, and support of university-managed IT resources including, but not limited to: Networked and Stand-Alone Workstations, Laptops, Mobile Devices and Virtual Desktops, Cloud Services such as Box or Office 365, Local and Networked Printers and Client and Server-Side applications. Exercise excellent customer service skills in support of all faculty and staff members of the University through building relationships, documenting work clearly and completely, following up and following through on your commitments, learning continuously and delivering solid operational metrics.
Requirements
Knowledge, skills and abilitiesWorking knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot computer and mobile operating systems (Current and Past Versions of Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android), hardware, software, peripherals, and appropriate system management and security tools in a network environment.Efficient time management to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects and deadlines.Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, team members, and leadership.Special licenses, registration or certificationPossession of valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.Education or training
Level and type of experience
Considerable experience in information technology support.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)Associates Degree or Higher in Computer Sciences or Information Technology-related discipline.Considerable information technology support experience in a corporate, administrative, or educational setting.Familiarity with IT asset management suites such as Ivanti, LANDesk, Altiris, SCCM, Remedy, Microsoft Endpoint Manager or JamfUsage of a ticketing system such as Remedy, ServiceNow, Footprints or ZenDeskCustom configuration of a computer purchase to meet end-user requirementsUnderstanding of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, Group Policy or MDM policyEnterprise-level anti-virus / anti-malware suitesVirtualization technologies such as Citrix, VMWare and VirtualBoxRemote support applications such as Microsoft Remote Desktop, Dameware, LogMeIn or Apple Remote DesktopFamiliarity with Linux distributions, software and management toolsBasic scripting in VBScript, Batch or Powershell \u2013 CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+ certification.Fluency in collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, OneDrive, Box, Office 365Considerable experience supporting a Health Sciences or Nursing education environment.
