Job description

  • NEOMIN is seeking an experienced Network / Systems Analyst II or III to support the daily operation of the NEOMIN technology environment and provide advanced technical support to our member school districts.
  • This position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve issues across network, server, virtualization, communications, security, and application environments. The position works closely with NEOMIN staff, school district technology personnel, and vendors to implement solutions, resolve complex problems, and support technology projects.
  • The Analyst II or III classification will be determined based on experience, demonstrated technical depth, independence, project ownership, and ability to provide technical leadership and guidance.

Requirements

  • NEOMIN’s member school districts rely on our technical team for assistance with systems and problems that may extend beyond routine end-user support. This position requires an experienced technical professional who can encounter an unfamiliar problem, gather relevant information, analyze logs and system behavior, develop and test possible causes, research unfamiliar technologies, and work toward a reliable resolution.
  • Candidates are not expected to have prior experience with every technology used by NEOMIN. Strong troubleshooting fundamentals, technical curiosity, accuracy, ownership, and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems are particularly important.
  • Analyst II candidates should demonstrate a high degree of technical independence and ownership. Analyst III candidates should additionally demonstrate subject-matter expertise, technical leadership, mentorship, and the ability to manage complex systems and projects with minimal oversight.

Experience & Capabilities:

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across network, server, application, and infrastructure environments, including the ability to investigate unfamiliar problems through logs, testing, documentation, and research.
  • Experience administering primarily Windows Server environments and related infrastructure services; Linux experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, PowerShell, identity management, MFA, and modern authentication technologies such as SAML and OIDC.
  • Experience administering VMware vSphere or comparable enterprise virtualization environments, including virtual machine lifecycle, snapshots, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Google Workspace administration preferred; Microsoft 365 experience is also valuable.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, NAT, firewalls, VPNs, and enterprise wireless networking.
  • Experience with enterprise network and firewall technologies; Arista networking and Palo Alto firewalls experience is beneficial.
  • Experience with VoIP/SIP technologies and enterprise phone systems; 3CX experience is beneficial. This may include provisioning, call routing, IVRs, queues, SIP trunks, SBCs, and related network/firewall troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, endpoint, and security platforms such as MSP360, ManageEngine Endpoint Central and Log360, ESET EDR, and web-filtering systems, including reviewing alerts, troubleshooting agents and services, managing configurations, and analyzing logs.
  • Ability to plan and carry technical projects through implementation, testing, documentation, and completion while coordinating effectively with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to create clear, accurate, and maintainable technical documentation.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and professionally to technical and nontechnical audiences and provide strong customer service to member school districts.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and expertise to other areas of the organization, while collaborating with, supporting, and mentoring other members of the technology team.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity practices and frameworks, including NIST security controls, is beneficial.
  • Experience providing technology training or knowledge transfer is beneficial.

Benefits & conditions

  • Commensurate with education, experience, and position classification.
