Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Test Bench Engineering Specialist to design, build, maintain, and support vehicle-level and system integration test benches for Connected Services (GCS) validation activities. This role is responsible for ensuring test environments remain operational, current with released software and hardware configurations, and available to engineering teams globally. The ideal candidate will possess strong automotive electronics knowledge, CAN communication expertise, ECU configuration experience, bench development capabilities, and asset management skills. This position requires both hands-on technical execution and coordination across engineering, testing, IT, and project teams., Test Bench Design & Development
- Design, build, configure, and validate component-level, subsystem-level, and end-to-end integration test benches.
- Develop and maintain test setups supporting Connected Services, telematics, OTA, cloud-connected, and vehicle integration testing.
- Create and maintain wiring schematics, harnesses, connector mappings, and hardware interface documentation.
- Support validation teams in reproducing customer and field issues within bench environments.
- Configure and maintain remote-access workstations, engineering PCs, and supporting software tools.
Vehicle Network & Diagnostics Support
- Analyze, monitor, and debug CAN, CAN-FD, UDS, and J1939 communications with required tools like CANoe/CANalyzer, or equivalent
- Support root cause analysis for vehicle communication and system integration issues.
Asset Management & Procurement Support
- Manage inventory of ECUs, harnesses, sensors, modems, power supplies, and supporting equipment.
- Work with suppliers, purchasing teams, and management to acquire required hardware and software resources.
- Maintain asset databases and inventory records.
Test Lab Coordination & Resource Scheduling
- Coordinate test bench utilization across multiple engineering and testing teams.
- Establish reservation and scheduling processes to maximize bench availability.
- Ensure equitable allocation of shared laboratory resources.
- Monitor usage trends and provide capacity planning recommendations.
- Support both onsite and offshore teams with access and scheduling requirements.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Develop and maintain bench build guides, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting documentation.
- Establish standardized hardware and software configurations across test environments.
- Support process improvements related to test lab operations and asset management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive electronics, validation, test bench development, or system integration.

Strong knowledge of:
- CAN / CAN-FD
- UDS Diagnostics
- SAE J1939
- Automotive ECU architectures
- Telematics and Connected Vehicle Systems
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of ECU flashing, calibration, software updates, and configuration management.
- Experience supporting hardware procurement, inventory management, and asset tracking.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision., * Experience in telematics and cloud-connected vehicle architectures, supporting OTA update controllers within test bench environments
- Experience with network protocols such as Ethernet, DoIP, MQTT, LTE/5G, or Wi-Fi.
- Familiarity with test automation environments and scripting languages (Python, CAPL, PowerShell).
- Experience managing multi-user test laboratories.
- Experience creating wiring diagrams, harnesses, connectors, and bench hardware configurations.
