Job description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team.The role will be reporting to Development Team Lead Location: Spain While Spain is the preferred location for this role, we embrace a flexible approach and welcome applications from talented professionals based in Luxembourg & the United Kingdom subject to local employment requirements.Responsibilities Translate design specifications into clean, performant, and maintainable code using software engineering standards; design and build backend services, frontends, and REST API integrations.Work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Team Leads, Business Analysts, and Technical Support to deliver integrated solutions and resolve technical issues.Perform varied roles across system analysis, design, program coding, testing, and production support as needed to meet project plans.Champion code quality practices, perform and assist in unit test execution, and prepare thorough technical project documentation.Mentor team members on best practices and ensure compliance with software engineering methodologies.Participate in system migration planning and execution, and provide on-site or off-site support for production systems.Ensure all active programs, technical challenges, and project statuses are accurately documented in status reports.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong competence in Java coding best practices, design patterns, and REST APIs.Experience or familiarity with Spring Boot, JPA, XML, Swing, RMI, Hibernate, EJB, Angular, Ionic, IBM MQ, or Kafka is a plus.Proven SQL skills across databases such as Oracle DBMS, MS SQL Server, Mongo DB, and Postgre SQL.Strong working knowledge of Scrum/Agile frameworks and Dev Ops practices.Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a good command of the English language (spoken and written).Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field of study.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.Experience using tools like SVN, Tortoise, Eclipse, Maven, Ant, Gitlab, or Bamboo across Linux, Windows, and AWS environments.The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.Security : the successful candidate will have to comply with CHAMP Security Requirements (including but not limited to CHAMP’s IT Security Policies, especially the ISMS Policy and the Acceptable Use Policy, mandatory courses, confidentiality and data protection, use of company assets, and incident reporting).CHAMP Cargosystems is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.We are committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.All employment decisions are based on business needs, job requirements and individual qualifications, without regard to race, ethnic background, religion or belief, family or parental status, or any other status protected by the laws or regulations in the locations where we operate.Please note that any personal data that you submit along with your application will be processed by CHAMP and may be processed by any of its global entities as necessary.These data will be treated in strict compliance with the applicable data protection legislation (i.E. the Law of 2 August ** on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data, as amended, and Regulation (EU) **** of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April **, - the GDPR -, which entered into force on 25 May **, as well as any other subsequent regulation).Please follow the link to the CHAMP Candidates Privacy Notice for further information.
