Job description
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Solution Architect to design, oversee, and scale end-to-end technical architectures that address complex business requirements. In this leadership role, you will define enterprise-wide technical strategies, guide cloud adoption and modernization, and spearhead integration across our platform ecosystem - with a core focus on Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance operations and Guidewire solutions., * Design and oversee end-to-end technical architectures addressing complex business requirements using industry best practices and emerging technologies
- Architect and customize sophisticated systems and platforms to ensure scalability, reliability, performance, security, and long-term sustainability
- Lead enterprise-wide architectural decisions and define technical strategies, standards, patterns, and best practices
- Propose and design integration of multiple platforms, applications, tools, and systems to deliver seamless and scalable solutions
- Design and develop microservices and APIs that integrate with Guidewire applications, including rapid prototyping of new insurance capabilities and workflows
- Leverage Generative AI to enhance underwriting, claims processing, customer service, and other insurance-related processes
- Define and guide API, microservices, and integration strategies
- Provide technical leadership and direction to development teams, ensuring the delivery and maintenance of high-quality code and configurations
- Mentor developers, technical leads, and engineering teams, providing guidance on architecture, development practices, and technical decision-making
- Promote innovation and the adoption of emerging technologies while ensuring adherence to architectural governance, standards, and compliance requirements
- Evaluate Guidewire capabilities and services to determine their strategic fit within the technology landscape
- Define and guide cloud adoption, modernization, and migration strategies across enterprise technology transformation initiatives
Requirements
- Experience: 10-15+ years in IT, with 6-10+ years specializing in Guidewire configuration, integration, and enterprise architecture
- Domain Knowledge: Deep expertise in P&C insurance operations (Policy, Claims, and Billing) and the insurance business
- Technical Stack: Proficiency in Gosu, Java, REST/SOAP APIs, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and CI/CD pipelines. Exposure to automation and AI is a plus
- Certifications: Guidewire ACE or professional-level certification in InsuranceSuite modules is preferred
- Guidewire Expertise: Extensive experience configuring Guidewire applications to align with business requirements (full insurance lifecycle). Rapid prototyping using Java/Gosu to build proofs-of-concept (POCs), and building/extending APIs connecting Guidewire systems to external platforms. Experience supporting both cloud and on-premise/client-cloud deployments
- AI Integration: Leveraging Generative AI (and machine learning models or pre-built AI tools) to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and customer service decision-making
- Software Implementation: Proven track record of leading large-scale software implementation projects, translating complex business requirements into functional specifications. Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence), CI/CD tools (TeamCity, Jenkins), and Git version control
- Transformational Leadership: Strong ability to consult with customers, align business objectives with innovative solutions, and lead enterprise transformation initiatives
- Communication: Fluent business-level English (additional languages highly valued) with excellent communication skills to influence both technical and non-technical

This posting includes a good faith range of the salary EPAM would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. The range provided reflects base salary only. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to: geographic location, experience, credentials, education, training; the demand for the role; and overall business and labor market considerations. Most candidates are hired at a salary within the range disclosed. Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000.
