Job description
Position Summary: Journeyman systems/network administrator responsible for managing and controlling AMDOTS IT equipment and supporting secure, available, recoverable, and high-performing system/network operations. Primary Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, administer, maintain, and support internal and external networks and server operating systems.
- Create and test data backups and support system recoverability, disaster recovery, and contingency planning.
- Verify data/system integrity and define or implement database and system access controls.
- Maintain system/network availability and performance; troubleshoot performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Enforce system security, maintain system-administration policies, configuration-control/management plans, and mission-function system schemas.
- Perform system-wide integrity tests, apply required security vulnerability patches, install and maintain operating systems/applications, and provide system reports to the Government.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in internal/external network setup, configuration and support; network performance issues; operating-system installation and maintenance; and application installation and maintenance.
- U.S. citizenship.
- At least a Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience administering secure DoD networks and servers in classified environments.
- Experience with backup/recovery, vulnerability patching, access control, configuration management, system hardening, and network performance troubleshooting.
- Relevant DoD cybersecurity or system-administration certification(s).
