Job description

AV is seeking a DevOps Software Engineer to join an established customer-facing project supporting U.S. national security. The ideal candidate will have experience with custom applications and scripts across multiple platforms and implementing improvements to existing software solutions. This position requires strong ability to communicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team members. In addition, the successful candidate will regularly engage with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as required., * Develop and/or modify custom applications and scripts implemented across multiple platforms

  • Maintain custom software applications and services
  • Recommend and implement improvements to existing software solutions
  • Maintain system architecture to ensure versatility and consistency across multiple platforms
  • Provide input to software configuration and system documentation, improvements to capabilities, build roadmaps, and update software as required
  • Attend meetings and reviews
  • Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas, the program manager, and customer team members
  • Communicate with external parties such as mission partners and vendors as required

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/polygraph
  • Demonstrated custom development experience using Linux based servers and appliances
  • Demonstrated 3+ years of experience using Rust and/or Python to develop applications and services.
  • Experience with Rust strongly preferred; candidates with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new languages will also be considered
  • Demonstrated experience implementing automation tools using Ansible
  • Demonstrated experience implementing custom apps using Docker containers
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining custom application code bases
  • Demonstrate strong written/verbal communications, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills including willingness and ability to document and share information
  • Able to work well in a team environment and as an individual contributor
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
