w2 Principal Financial Systems Engineer (Python / AWS

• Serve as the technical leader for cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and microservices. \n

• Remain hands-on with software development using Python while mentoring engineering teams. \n

• Design and review scalable technical solutions aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards. \n

• Lead solution design workshops with business and technology stakeholders. \n

• Define architecture principles and evaluate technology options for long-term scalability. \n

• Develop cloud-native applications utilizing AWS services including Lambda, S3, EKS, and SQS. \n

• Design and support containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. \n

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing Git and Bitbucket Pipelines. \n

• Design and implement REST API integrations and enterprise application interfaces. \n

• Promote Agile, DevOps, Test Driven Development (TDD), automation, and engineering excellence. \n

• Reduce technical debt while improving application quality, scalability, and operational efficiency. \n

• Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide ongoing application support. \n

• Participate in software evaluations, architecture reviews, and technology selection initiatives. \n

• Develop technical documentation, solution designs, and test strategies. \n

• Support unit, integration, system, regression, and automated testing efforts. \n

• Collaborate with architects, QA teams, developers, and business partners throughout the software development lifecycle. \n

• Support business users through application enhancements, issue resolution, and technology consulting. \n

• 8+ years of enterprise software engineering or application development experience. \n

• Expert-level Python development experience. \n

• Strong AWS experience including Lambda, S3, EKS, and SQS. \n

• Experience designing and developing distributed systems and microservices. \n

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. \n

• Strong Git and Bitbucket Pipelines experience. \n

• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and supporting DevOps practices. \n

• Experience integrating enterprise applications using REST APIs. \n

• Experience with enterprise scheduling platforms such as Airflow or AutoSys. \n

• Strong solution architecture and technical design experience. \n

• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers. \n

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders. \n

• Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). \n

• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced Agile environment. \n
