Application Engineer

We are looking for an Application Engineer to join an international engineering team in Belgium.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of engineering, product development and digitalisation. You will be responsible for implementing new products and technical changes in the software tools used to configure and support our product portfolio.

You will work closely with R&D, Engineering, Master Data and other internal teams, making sure that products and technical changes are correctly reflected in the company’s applications and product configurators.

Your responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing product configurators and engineering applications
• Implement new products, product ranges and technical changes into existing tools
• Analyse and resolve issues related to application functionality
• Keep product configurators and technical data aligned with the latest product developments
• Work with the Master Data team to maintain accurate product information
• Translate business and engineering requirements into technical requirements
• Coordinate technical changes and improvements with internal teams and external developers
• Work closely with R&D and Engineering when new products or technical changes are introduced
• Support internal departments as a technical point of contact
• Test new functionalities and support application improvements
• Train end users and provide guidance on the use of applications

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in application management, application maintenance or engineering applications - this is essential
• Strong interest in IT solutions and digital tools
• Experience working with technical/product data or engineering systems
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with different teams
• Strong communication skills and a structured, accurate approach
• Good knowledge of MS Office
• Fluent English

Nice to have

• Experience with product configurators/product configuration
• Experience with PLM, PDM or ERP systems
• Knowledge of product master data, product structures or BOMs
• SQL / SQL Server knowledge
• C# / .NET knowledge
