Job description

I am recruiting for a contract Data Scientist to join a healthcare-focused programme on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering analytical insights that directly support evidence-based decision-making and improve outcomes across complex healthcare initiatives. Working within a collaborative and data-driven environment, you will lead sophisticated analytical projects, engage with senior stakeholders, and provide technical expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality data science solutions. The Role As a Data Scientist, you will:

  • Lead complex data analysis projects to generate actionable insights.
  • Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to support strategic decision-making.
  • Develop robust data models and analytical solutions using Python and SQL.
  • Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Create engaging data visualisations and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide analytical leadership across projects and programmes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and influence decision-making.
  • Ensure quality assurance, governance, and best practice across analytical outputs.
  • Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to team development and capability building.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Data Scientist role.
  • Strong expertise in advanced analytics and statistical methods, including:

  • Hypothesis testing
  • Regression analysis
  • Time-series analysis
  • Expert-level SQL development and optimisation.
  • Advanced Python skills, including data wrangling, analysis, and modelling.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven experience working with complex and large-scale datasets.
  • Strong strategic problem-solving and evidence-based decision-making skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
  • Experience producing clear, impactful data visualisations and analytical reports.
  • Demonstrable project or programme leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting team development and promoting analytical best practices.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and governance within analytical environments.
