VMware Engineer

• Support and engineer a large enterprise VMware infrastructure supporting mission-critical government operations.
• Maintain and enhance virtualization, storage, networking, and disaster recovery capabilities across a complex IT environment.
• Partner with infrastructure, networking, storage, and cybersecurity teams to identify issues, implement solutions, and improve overall platform performance and reliability.

• 5+ years of VMware administration and engineering experience within enterprise environments
• 5+ years of experience supporting VMware vSphere (7.x/8.x), ESXi, and vCenter Server
• Experience designing and administering VMware clusters, including HA, DRS, resource pools, vMotion, and Storage vMotion
• Experience with VMware lifecycle management, including ESXi patching, vCenter upgrades, firmware validation, and Lifecycle Manager administration
• Experience integrating VMware with enterprise storage technologies, including NFS, VMFS, and iSCSI datastores
• Experience configuring and supporting VMware virtual networking, including Distributed Virtual Switches (VDS), Standard Virtual Switches, VLANs, and NIC Teaming
• Experience supporting backup and recovery operations, disaster recovery planning, VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM), and enterprise backup platforms
• Experience utilizing ServiceNow, JIRA, and Confluence, with strong documentation, change management, troubleshooting, and communication skills
