Exchange Engineer

We’re looking for a highly skilled Exchange Engineer to become a key member of our Infrastructure Team in Syracuse, NY. In this role, you’ll be at the center of our enterprise messaging ecosystem, driving innovation, reliability, and security across our Microsoft technology stack. You’ll play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and safeguarding the platforms that keep our organization connected, collaborating closely with infrastructure, security, and networking teams to deliver exceptional user experiences and operational excellence., As our Microsoft Exchange Engineer, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and evolving a modern messaging environment that supports enterprise-scale operations. Messaging & Collaboration Excellence

• Manage and optimize Microsoft Exchange Server and Exchange Online environments.
• Administer Microsoft 365 messaging and collaboration services, including mailbox management, mail routing, compliance policies, and retention strategies.
• Ensure seamless communication across the organization through reliable and secure messaging solutions.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain email security platforms, anti-spam solutions, and messaging hygiene services.
• Support governance, compliance, and data protection initiatives across Microsoft 365.
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to strengthen platform security and reduce operational risk.

Identity & Infrastructure Management

• Administer Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and identity management services.
• Support authentication, access management, and hybrid identity environments.
• Drive infrastructure improvements that enhance scalability, performance, and user experience.

Optimization & Innovation

• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform root-cause analysis.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives across Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
• Leverage PowerShell automation to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Operational Readiness

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Support backup, recovery, and business continuity efforts.
• Participate in critical incident response and after-hours support when required., * Work on a mission-critical enterprise messaging platform that supports a large and dynamic organization.
• Gain exposure to cutting-edge Microsoft cloud, security, and collaboration technologies.
• Influence infrastructure modernization initiatives and contribute to strategic technology decisions.
• Collaborate with a talented team of infrastructure, security, and technology professionals.
• Enjoy the potential flexibility of transitioning to a hybrid or remote work arrangement after onboarding.

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience managing enterprise Microsoft Exchange environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/2019+)
• Exchange Online
• Microsoft 365 Administration
• Active Directory
• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Proven experience supporting enterprise-scale messaging platforms.
• Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills., * Experience with Exchange hybrid environments and large-scale migrations.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft 365 security solutions.
• Familiarity with email compliance, retention policies, legal hold, and eDiscovery.
• Microsoft certifications such as:
• Microsoft 365 Administrator
• Messaging Administrator Associate
• Azure Administrator Associate
• Experience with cloud identity and infrastructure technologies.

Pay Range*: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
