Python Developer (1x week onsite Pentagon)

We are seeking experienced Full Stack Python Developers to support a high-visibility Department of Defense initiative focused on building and deploying advanced cloud-based applications that enable data-driven decision making across mission-critical environments. This is a hands-on engineering role for developers who enjoy designing, building, scaling, and deploying modern applications. Successful candidates will help develop custom solutions using Python, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks while working closely with cloud engineers, data professionals, and mission stakeholders. The position offers a highly desirable primarily remote work environment with only occasional onsite presence at the Pentagon.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack web applications supporting mission-critical initiatives
• Build custom applications and dashboards using Python-based frameworks such as Dash and Flask
• Develop modern user interfaces utilizing React.js and JavaScript
• Create scalable APIs, backend services, and data integration solutions
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications within cloud environments
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and government stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Participate in agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, and solution design sessions
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, and performance issues
• Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices for modern software development

• Active TS/SCI clearance preferred; active Secret clearance will be considered
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong hands-on software development experience using Python
• Experience developing full stack web applications
• Proficiency with JavaScript and modern front-end development
• Experience with React.js
• Experience building applications using Flask and/or Dash
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services
• Experience deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, and source control processes
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment, * Experience supporting DoD, federal civilian, or national security programs
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices

• Experience integrating large-scale datasets into custom applications
• Familiarity with Qlik products and business intelligence solutions
• Experience collaborating with data scientists and analytics teams
