Network Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join one of our technology clients in Austin, TX. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise-scale network environments across multiple sites. The ideal candidate has experience independently supporting complex network infrastructures, leading network-focused projects, and contributing to data center and office expansion initiatives., * Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.

• Troubleshoot complex network issues involving routing, switching, wireless, and connectivity.
• Support network architecture, performance optimization, and capacity planning initiatives.
• Participate in office expansion projects, infrastructure upgrades, and data center deployments.
• Manage and maintain LAN/WAN environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to deploy and support business-critical infrastructure.
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Assist with network automation and scripting efforts to streamline administration and monitoring.
• Provide technical leadership and recommendations for future network enhancements and improvements.

This is a hands-on engineering role that requires strong networking expertise, the ability to manage large-scale environments, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and infrastructure improvements., * 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, including design, implementation, and troubleshooting

• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and multi-site network environments
• Cisco (CCNP/CCIE), Juniper, Arista, or equivalent networking certification
• Strong understanding of dynamic routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF
• Experience designing and managing large L2/L3 networks
• Expertise with VLANs, trunking, and inter-VLAN routing
• Experience managing enterprise wireless solutions (Cisco Meraki, Aruba, etc.)
• Proficiency with enterprise firewalls such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, or similar
• Familiarity with open-source firewall solutions such as pfSense
• Hands-on experience with network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar)
• Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or equivalent
• Proven ability to independently support complex network infrastructures - Knowledge of Ethernet Virtual Private Networks (EVPN) for scalable Layer 2 networks.
• Familiarity with Equal-Cost Multi-Path (ECMP) routing to distribute traffic across multiple paths.
• Experience scaling non-blocking networks to ensure high availability and performance in large environments.
• Understanding of novel network topologies (e.g., Torus, Hypercube, Dragonfly) for high-performance computing or specialized network designs.
• Experience with network congestion management techniques, including traffic shaping, QoS, and load balancing.
