Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision making across the organization. This role will lead the development of modern Power BI architecture, semantic models, DirectQuery solutions, data integration frameworks, and reporting automation initiatives.

The Business Intelligence Developer serves as the technical foundation of the Reporting & Analytics team by transforming data from multiple healthcare, financial, operational, and clinical systems into governed, trusted, and actionable information. This individual will partner with stakeholders throughout the organization to design scalable solutions that reduce manual processes, improve reporting efficiency, standardize metrics, and advance the organization’s analytics maturity.

Essential Responsibilities

Reporting

• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize business intelligence solutions, dashboards, data models, and reporting architecture that support clinical, operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
• Develop scalable reporting solutions and data integration processes that improve data accessibility, consistency, automation, and performance across the organization.
• Create, validate, and maintain enterprise reporting standards, metric definitions, semantic models, and governance documentation to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting processes and streamline analytics workflows.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance reporting solutions to ensure reliability, scalability, and ongoing business value.

Functional Leadership

• Serve as the technical resource for business intelligence architecture, data modeling, reporting standards, and analytics best practices.
• Partner with Information Systems leadership to support reporting modernization, data governance, automation, and long-term data platform initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and processes and recommend solutions that improve organizational analytics capabilities.
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable reporting frameworks, development standards, and deployment processes.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to analytics team members and organizational stakeholders.

Customer Service

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
• Consult with leaders and end users on reporting strategies, data interpretation, visualization best practices, and performance measurement.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and training for business intelligence tools, dashboards, and reporting solutions.
• Communicate project status, priorities, recommendations, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Associate’s degree
• Five years of experience developing business intelligence, analytics, reporting, or data solutions including experience utilizing business intelligence platforms, relational databases, and SQL to develop reporting and analytics solutions.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical designs and reporting solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in a healthcare environment supporting clinical, operational, financial, or revenue cycle analytics.
• Experience with Epic Clarity, Caboodle, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data technologies, or other enterprise data platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting data models, semantic models, data integration processes, or data warehouse solutions.

• Strong logical, analytical, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, ability to translate data into informative visuals and reports, and present findings
• Knowledge of business intelligence concepts, data modeling, reporting architecture, data governance, and analytics best practices.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, collaborate across departments, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
