• Spring, We are supporting a major Tax Administration Modernisation Programme, helping HMRC transform and modernise critical services. This is a 6-month rolling contract for a Senior Java Engineer, offered at £575 - £595 per day inside IR35, with a hybrid working pattern in Telford requiring 2 days onsite. We are growing our engineering team and working within an agile environment across multiple Scrum teams on the Auxiliary Self-Assessment Solutions (ASAS) programme, including the Historical Records Store (HRS). Our engineers are encouraged to become genuinely T-shaped and build capability across Presentation, Service and Data layers while working with modern technologies and AI-assisted development.

• Strong Java engineering experience
• Experience or awareness of AI technologies
• Python/scripting experience
• Understanding of Git (GitLab experience advantageous)
• Proven leadership and coaching ability
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
