Manufacturing Data Strategy & Architecture Consultant

Seeking a senior Manufacturing Data Strategy & Architecture Consultant to support the development of a future-state data vision, strategy, and architecture roadmap.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in pharmaceutical manufacturing data ecosystems, industrial data architectures, contextualization, semantics, and GxP-regulated environments.

This role will serve as a trusted advisor to Pfizer leadership, providing applied industry expertise, external benchmarking perspectives, and hands-on support in shaping the future manufacturing data landscape., Seeking an experienced pharmaceutical manufacturing data architect with expertise in PI Historian, MES, LIMS, SAP, Snowflake, industrial data models, contextualization, semantics, GxP, and manufacturing data strategy to help shape Pfizer’s future-state data architecture and AI-readiness roadmap.

Manufacturing Data Strategy

• Support creation of the enterprise manufacturing data vision and strategy.
• Provide industry best practices and benchmarking from pharmaceutical and process manufacturing environments.
• Help define future-state operating principles for manufacturing data platforms.
• Contribute to AI-readiness strategies for industrial data ecosystems.

Data Architecture Leadership

• Define manufacturing and shop-floor architecture roadmaps.
• Assess current-state industrial data architecture.
• Recommend modernization paths for manufacturing data assets.
• Develop future-state architecture aligned with business priorities and digital transformation goals.

Industrial Data & Contextualization

• Provide expertise in:

• Industrial Data Models
• Contextualization Frameworks
• Unified Namespace (UNS)
• ISA-95 Concepts
• Manufacturing Semantics
• Digital Thread architectures

Drive alignment between OT, IT, and enterprise analytics platforms.

Technology Architecture

• Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding:

• PI Historian ecosystem
• Manufacturing execution systems (MES)
• Laboratory systems (LIMS)
• SAP data integration
• Snowflake architecture
• Data lakehouse strategy
• Edge data platforms

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure all recommendations align with GxP requirements.
• Support architecture governance and standards development.
• Define architectural principles supporting scalability, compliance, and analytics enablement.

• 12+ years of experience in manufacturing data architecture and strategy.
• Extensive experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, or Process Manufacturing industries.
• Proven experience designing industrial data architectures.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and shop-floor technologies.
