A Snapshot of Your Day

In our HVDC Communication Team, we test and verify network infrastructures, communication interfaces, as well as HMI concepts of our innovative HVDC projects in our test center. During the commissioning of our HVDC systems worldwide, we ensure the flawless functionality and quality. Our diverse and multinational teams work closely with project management, system, and component engineering to provide custom solutions based on the latest innovations in HVDC technology.

How You’ll Make an Impact.

  • You are responsible for technically flawless, on-time and economical handling of the commissioning of HVDC systems on our construction sites (worldwide) especially for data networks and individual components of network communication SCADA- Level
  • Responsibility for the commissioning, support, and control of the predominantly TCP/IP-based network infrastructure, HMI concept, and their purpose-specific adaptation
  • Responsibility for time synchronization as well as the local and remote signal converter and thus interface to all other involved signal suppliers
  • Support for other commissioning components as well as customers and external partners in troubleshooting and testing communication interfaces
  • Support for IBS management in quality, risk, and claim management
  • Participation in improvement programs (including Lean, reviews, and lessons learned), The Project Entity team is responsible for the first-class execution and successful implementation of sophisticated projects across all Siemens Energy business units. We create and leverage synergies and highly skilled competencies across all business units to deliver projects as One Siemens Energy. With a strong focus on digitalization and productivity, we deliver projects on time and on budget, while driving standards for Project Perfection, Best Practices and Lessons Learned across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or communication systems.
  • 3+ years’ experience in network administration (switches, routers, etc.), basic HMI, and PC administration (hardware and virtualization).
  • Preferent with OHSHA 10 minimum, OSHA 30 preferred. NFPA 70E (supplemental training).
  • Basic knowledge of network protocols (including TCP/IP, RADIUS) as well as network security and monitoring
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and precisely
  • Handling of circuit diagrams and electrical systems
  • Fluent in English
  • 100% travel availability
  • Flexibility and willingness to participate in national/international assignments
  • Team player with strong communication skills, proactive attitude, effective conflict management, and sound decision-making abilities.
