Cyber Security Engineer

You will collaborate with experienced professionals, develop specialist skills, and contribute to a mission that matters.Summary of what you will do- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of cyber security controls across IT and operational technology environments.- Assist with security incident detection, investigation, and response activities to protect critical energy infrastructure.- Conduct vulnerability

management activities, including scanning, remediation tracking, and security log reviews.- Support the deployment of security solutions such as multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection, privileged access management, and monitoring tools.- Assist with secure configuration of equipment and participate in security testing and validation activities.- Deliver small projects within agreed timescales and contribute to the company’s IT strategy and investment plans.- Provide first-line technical support and guidance to colleagues on cyber security best practices.What you will bring to the role- Degree or equivalent qualification and experience in IT, Computing, or Electronic Engineering.- Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining cyber security controls in operational environments.- Good knowledge of cyber security principles, particularly Industrial Cyber Security and OT environments.- Familiarity with Windows PC and Server operating systems, networking protocols, and Android mobile device configuration.- Understanding of power industry operations and the business processes that IT systems support.- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in multifunctional teams.- Eagerness to learn new technologies and a proactive approach to problem-solving.LocationThis is a site based role from Dinorwig Power Station (Llanberis).
