System Development Engineer, Customer Terminal Hardware Team, Amazon Leo Customer Terminal

As an System Development Engineer on our team, you will design and implement embedded software solutions for new hardware features, working closely with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. Your code will directly influence the real-world performance of systems deployed in customer homes. • Architect, design, implement, and validate software solutions for onboard power management systems.
• Design and develop close-loop control algorithms that leverage sensor peripherals, microcontrollers, and custom silicon.
• Enable data-driven performance insights through automated test execution, collection, and analysis pipelines.
• Collaborate with manufacturing team to ensure that every Leo device shipped meets requirements.
• Define and execute software release processes, CI/CD, and quality verification.
• Work hands-on with hardware test equipment.
• Deliver clear documentation and user-focused software for engineering and manufacturing teams. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting infrastructure

• Experience with Linux/Unix
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, C++, C#

• Experience working with microcontrollers or embedded systems. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
• Experience in hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
